Bio

Anja began studying classical piano at the age of 7. She first picked up the electric guitar as a teenager and immediately fell in love. Her earliest influences included B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Jimi Hendrix. Later, she discovered jazz and classical guitar.

Before permanently relocating to Los Angeles, California, in 2018, Anja earned her stripes as a working musician in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She performed in diverse settings such as Radiohead tributes, jazz quartets, rock bands, R&B groups, and solo shows. Anja played with local acts such as The Ruckus Brothers, Chelsey Nicole and the Northside Vamps, and Crystal Lee Morgan. Additionally, she shared the stage with the city's finest jazz musicians (Tony Campbell, Antonio Croes, Mark Lucas).

An avid performer and educator, Anja hosted numerous jam sessions and fundraising concerts in Pittsburgh. She performed locally at the WDVE Morning Radio Show, James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy, The Pittsburgh Winery, Harambee Ujima Black Arts Festival, Deutschtown Music Festival, Club Cafe, Spirit Hall, SPIN Nightclub, and more.

In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Anja studied guitar with Mark Koch (Pat Martino) and R.J. Zimmerman (Aaron Shearer). She also studied voice with vocalist Robert Kurth (United States Navy Band Sea Chanters, Pittsburgh Opera) and LA-based vocalist Lynn Fanelli (Percy Sledge, The Manhattans, Deneice Williams).

Upon relocating to Los Angeles in 2018, Anja performed with Mr. Hudson (Kanye West, John Legend, JP Cooper). She also worked with rising pop artists (Fox, Kelleia, Josh Dean) and LA's best jazz musicians. While in Los Angeles, Anja started her own business (Anja Wade Music Studio) and turned her attention to self-production.

Today, Anja balances her time between coasts while focusing on original music and her solo career.
